HAPPY NEW YEAR!!

The day before New Years-I guess that would be New Years Eve Day-we went skiing at the Canyons Resort in Park City. Matt and I hadn't been skiing for years and years, so we were both super excited to go.

Special Thanks go out to:
  • the Saunders for providing the passes and the ski gear
  • the Hamiltons for the great idea and for joining us on the slopes!
  • My Dad for showing us how to ski like the pros
  • My sister Amber for letting me borrow all her snow gear
  • and My little sister Elise, and Ben, for showing us all up with their snowboarding moves
That night for New Years Eve, Matt, my sister Amber, and my cousin Mary, and I all went downtown for First Night. We pretty much paid $40 to stand around freezing to death, waiting for the countdown. We actually did have fun though, just hanging out all together.

HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!!

A Very Merry and COLD Christmas!

We drove to Utah for Christmas this year and had a wonderful time with family and friends over the Holidays. However, we've really gotten used to our 72 and sunny California days, so the cold Utah winter was a bit hard for us to cope with. Thanks to Old Navy - and Aunt Ber - Tanner got some great warm, snuggly outfits to keep him safe from the cold.

On Christmas morning, we got to video conference with my brother Max-he is serving a mission in Atlanta, Georgia. The video conference allowed him a first-time glimpse of his favorite nephew in action. After a delicious Christmas brunch we opened gifts. Among our gifts were some super special pieces of art created by my talented father.

The sculpture was a gift to Matt, it is a representation of a father and son. The painting is called "The Nativity" and my dad used Tanner and me as the models for this beautiful piece of art. Thanks Dad, we love our new artwork!

After our fun at the Chamberlains, we headed over to the Vandermyde household. Tanner got to hang out with his cousins: Brooklyn, Michael, Preston, and Kailee. He also had some great bonding time with all his uncles and his aunties Annie and Michelle.

Matt's dad got his private pilot's license just before everyone got in to Utah for the Holidays. Matt's parents celebrated their 32nd Wedding Anniversary by taking all of us flying! Matt's dad showed superb piloting skills and Matt is really excited to have his dad join in him in taking over the skies.

While in Utah, we hung out with friends and family

And even got to introduce Tanner to my sweet Uncle Joe.

It was so great to be able to spend Christmas with all our wonderful friends and family in Utah.
Thanks for all the fun!!
